This sunning turtle wasn't startled by my appearance in a kayak. I think it is a slider but am unsure about that ID. On Citico Creek on the Little Tennessee river.

Congratulations Douglas on being featured in the Fine Art America Group “The Art of Fishing”. A beautiful capture of this colorful turtle indeed. Sliders usually have a more “zebra” stripe look I believe. Especially around the head and neck. The beautiful colors displayed here make me believe it is a painted turtle. Very nice resolution!
